Black Theatre Day participation can look many different ways! Answer the call to action and celebrate, support and increase visibility of 21st century Black theatres.
Here are some official ways The CRAFT Institute encourages you to participate:

Share Black Theatre’s living legacy with your community or classroom. Use the Black Theatre Day Worksheet and African Grove Theatre Short Film with your organizations, students, friends, or institutions!

Dedicate a performance, exhibition, workshop, screening or gathering to celebrate Black Theatre Day. Use the Black Theatre Day branding and messaging to align your event with the national movement! Add the logo to posters, mention Black Theatre Day in your event materials or dedicate your already scheduled event to the holiday.

Donate to your local Black theatre, volunteer for a Black theatre organization, and/or attend an event hosted by a Black theatre. Invite your friends and family to do the same!

Post your productions, archives & impact. Use the Black Theatre Day branding and messaging to align your post with the national movement! Tag @blacktheatreday on socials and use #BlackTheatreDay so others can discover your post and join the movement.

Make Black Theatre Day everyday! Year round support strengthens Black theatre institutions and helps build sustainable, institutional wealth.
